Local's Guide to Currumbin

As you journey southward along the Gold Coast Highway, you'll encounter a captivating scene while crossing Currumbin Bridge. Here, a tranquil and glistening estuary beckons, with paddle boarders gracefully navigating its waters, while beyond, the surf beach welcomes rolling waves. This initial glimpse offers a tantalizing introduction to a suburb that spans from the coastline to the verdant hinterland, radiating the quintessential coastal relaxation for which the Gold Coast is renowned. Currumbin, a locale that caters to all tastes, whether you seek adventure, serenity, fresh produce, exquisite dining, or a beachfront retreat.

Our favourite cafes:

It is hard to go past the new Tarte Beach House that recently opened its doors.  Boasting a creekfront position with smooth coffee and delicious food, it is a crowd-pleaser and go-to for our staff. Make sure you treat yourself and try one of their famous crullers- they are drool-worthy!

We also love our neighbours at Aperitivo Cafe.  Aperitivo offers a genuine taste of Italy right here in Currumbin.  The main attraction are their paninis, made using their focaccias that are freshly baked in-house.  Choose from fillings such as the Cotto with free-range ham, tomato and Mozzarella or the classic Prosciutto with lashings of prosciutto di parma, stracciatella cheese, and pesto.

If acai and fresh juice is more your style, head down to The Salt Mill, which is a small hole-in-the-wall style coffee nook on Pacific Parade on Currumbin's beachfront.  You can grab your order take-away and walk across the road to enjoy it beachside.

Our favourite restaurants:

If you're after one of the best views on the Gold Coast, you must stop in at the Vikings Surf Club.  Perched at Elephant Rock, The Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club presents a Gold Coast panorama unlike any other. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, you can savour a delectable meal as you take in the rhythmic dance of the waves.

Tommy's Italian crafts some of the finest Italian cuisine the Gold Coast has to offer located right here in Currumbin. Providing a breath-taking beachfront setting, Tommy's is a delightful journey through the beloved classics of Italian cuisine, meticulously prepared and served with attentive and friendly hospitality. Dress sharp but casual.

Alley's Restaurant located at the Currumbin RSL is a family-friendly dining venue that overlooks both the Currumbin Creek and a fenced outdoor playground.  Offering modern Australian cuisine, there is something for everyone.  Our kids love the ham and cheese pizza!
